How to Play BlockLife

Everything in this world is made of blocks. You break blocks to collect them, then use them to build and make tools.

1. The basics

Click the game

Start

Click once on the game so your mouse controls where you look. Press Esc to get your mouse back.

WASDSpace

Walk & jump

W forward, S back, A left, D right. Space jumps. Move the mouse to look around. Hold Shift to run.

Hold Left Mouse

Break & collect

Point the little + at a block and keep holding the left button until it pops. Walk over the little block that drops to pick it up.

1…9Right Mouse

Place a block

Press a number to pick something from the bar at the bottom. Right-click where you want to put it down.

E

Bag & crafting

E opens your bag. On the right is a list of things to make. Green rows mean you have enough stuff. Click one to make it!

Hold Right Mouse

Eat

Pick food on your bar and hold the right button. The little drumsticks are your hunger. Hearts are your health.

Yellow arrow

Follow the arrow

The box in the top-left tells you what to do next. In Easy mode a yellow arrow floats over the thing you need.

This is the order most things are made in. Each step needs the one before it.

Wood first! Trees give logs. Logs → planks → sticks. Almost everything starts with wood.
A pickaxe digs stone fast. An axe chops wood fast. A shovel digs dirt and sand fast.
Blocks you placed break super fast, so you can never get stuck. Leave a gap for a door!
Animals (pigs, cows, chickens) give meat. Sheep give wool. Cook meat in a furnace, it fills you up more.
When it gets dark, right-click a bed to sleep until morning.
If you die you keep all your stuff and wake up at home.
Press Q to drop the thing you are holding.
Want to just build? Make a Creative world: every block, unlimited, and you can fly (tap Space twice).
Easy mode (Esc menu) turns off monsters, keeps nights bright, and lets you craft everything without a crafting table.
